This Thursday we are throwing back to January of 1967 when Ralph J. Murray, then president of Elmira College, announced plans to construct a new library and learning resource center on campus.

The building, funded in part by Frank E. Gannett, founder of the Gannett Group of newspapers, and Frank Tripp, general manager and chairman of the board of the Gannett Group, opened in 1969 bearing their names: the Gannett-Tripp Library.
