The Mu Chapter of Iota Iota Iota (or Triota), the national honor society for women’s studies, recently inducted students during a ceremony in Cowles Hall.

The induction ceremony recognized students who have excelled academically in gender and women’s studies, and fostered feminist scholarship, promoted personal growth, and increased awareness of issues pertaining to gender, race, class, sexuality, and other intersecting dimensions of identity.

The Greek letter, Iota, represents three ancient and powerful female goddesses, Inanna, Ishtar, and Isis. Triota supports academic excellence and facilitates community among students interested in gender and equality issues.

Elmira College hosts the Mu Chapter of Triota, which was formed in 2003.

The list of inductees for this year includes:
Alissa Abbott
Becca Ackerman (in absentia)
Amanda Banner
Juliana Zanella
