Dr. Marisa Domino

The campus community is invited to attend two presentations by guest lecturer Dr. Marisa Domino, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Thursday, December 7.

The first presentation, a technical paper on mental health services for prison releases, will be shared from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m. in Harris Hall, Room 14. Since this research is a work-in-progress, the paper will be presented in the style of a research seminar.

The second presentation, titled "A Public Health Perspective on Mental Health Issues" will take place from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Gannett-Tripp Library Lecture Hall. This talk will cover a broad range of topics from mental health and economics to psychology and human services.

Dr. Domino is a professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management in the Gillings School of Global Public Health; she is also director of the Program on Mental Health and Substance Abuse Systems and Services Research at the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research.  She has published almost 100 papers on various aspects of health economics.

The lectures, hosted by the Elmira College Economics Department in honor of the inaugural course offerings in health economics, are free and open to the public.

Please contact Dr. Darius Conger with any questions, or if you plan to attend with a large group.
